SEMINAR ON GST, 26th June 2019
The Goods
and Service Tax (GST) is being considered the panacea to cure all the existing
anomalies and complexities in the indirect system in the country and to make “one
nation - one Tax”. Goods and Services tax (GST) has been identified as one of
most important tax reforms post-independence hence; it is an upcoming topic for
the students to understand it’s worth. Our college had organized the seminar on
GST in collaboration with Board of studies, accountancy department- University
of Mumbai and Institute of Chartered accountants of India. The seminar was delivered
by CA Pinki Kedia Madam. Dr. Anupama Gawde madam; Member of Board of study,
Department of Accountancy was guest of honour
for the event; Seminar started at 8.00 am with a welcome note Principal Dr.
Jitendra Aherkar Sir had put light on topic of the discussion.
The seminar was useful in understanding the key
areas of GST and its impact on the businesses. It also helped to understand different
scenarios for the design and application of GST and to know the track policy
development regarding GST. The seminar provided a common platform for a
productive discussion on GST; all in the entire seminar familiarized everyone
with the new taxation system and it ended with vote of thanks.
